Councillor Alan Graver was born in the City of Thunder Bay, 247 km east of Ignace. Alan has been a full time resident in Ignace since retirement but has been coming to Ignace for 60 plus years because of his family connection, love for Ignace and its great outdoors.
Councillor Alan has had a rewarding career as a Fire Fighter and after 30 years of service with the Thunder Bay Fire Department decided to retire. Alan then moved to his dream community, Ignace, where he has lived since then and is currently enjoying every moment.
Council Alan believes that Ignace’s greatest assets are its friendly people, low taxes, low water costs, excellent recreational facilities (arena, seniors centre, gym, library, bowling alley), beautiful lakes and beaches and world class fishing and hunting.
Alan is passionate about the natural environment and outdoor activities and is delighted that tourism development is a key priority for the Township.
