Arts and Culture

The spirit of creativity resides in Ignace and is evident in the colourful murals that are plastered on the exterior of several Ignace businesses, along the highway corridor, in our library and throughout the community. We invite you to seek out these creative masterpieces. Several local artists, like Kim Richards, have exercised their creativity in our lovely surroundings.

Treasure Chest Artisan Market

Ignace is home to several talented artists and their original works of art — paintings, pottery, ceramics, quilts, cards, crochets, clothes, jewelry, leather work, woodwork, wire work upholstery, toys, furniture and photography. The majority of these art pieces can be viewed and purchased at the Treasure Chest Artisan Market located just east of the Northwoods Motor Inn on Highway 17 from May to September and occasionally will have pop up shows throughout the year at the Lower Curling Hall of the Ignace Recreation Centre.
