Born and raised in Ignace Ontario, Councillor John Taddeo began his education at Ignace Public School and Ignace High School. After graduating in 1982, he went on to pursue higher education at Confederation College.
After completing his schooling, John accepted employment with Canadian Pacific Railway in 1984. John was soon promoted to a managerial position in 1992 in recognition of his commitment and desire to always strive for excellence.
Despite having a demanding professional career, he found time to help shape the young minds of youths by coaching Minor Hockey and serving for two years as the Minor Hockey President.
With a keen desire to build a stronger Ignace, John decided to get involved in politics. To date, John has served three terms on Council. As a Councillor, John has been a strong proponent of fiscal responsibility and stewardship. He has also focused on holding the line on property taxes; continuing to decrease the Township’s debt, increasing its financial reserves; investing in our roads, sewers and parks infrastructure; and establishing a continuum of care for seniors allowing them to age in Ignace.
John believes in a strong and vibrant community with a quality of life that is second to none and is committed to the development and growth of Ignace.
Councillor John currently serves on the following Boards and Committees:
