Township of Ignace Partners with Thunder Bay Developer on First Ever New Housing Sub-Division Development

January 13, 2026, Ignace, ON – Township Council unanimously approved a recommendation from senior staff at its regularly scheduled meeting of January 12, 2026, indicating that it would partner with a Thunder Bay developer to begin negotiations on its new housing sub-division project in preparation for an expected influx of employees and other positive impacts from both the construction of the NWMO Centre of Expertise and Deep Geological Repository.
