The Township is pleased to award, Mr. Anuj Patel, co-owner of Northwoods Motor Inn and successful Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Incentives Program applicant, a Landscaping and Parking Area Improvement Grant. This grant is geared towards making properties more attractive and appealing, by improving the aesthetic appearance of parking and landscaped areas as well as providing better pedestrian connections and seating where applicable. This grant is provided to eligible applicants for a total of half (50%) of the construction costs, to a maximum of $5,000.
The Township of Ignace is committed in its support of local businesses and property owners. According to Donald Cunningham, Mayor of the Township of Ignace, “one of the Township’s main goals is to ensure that we do all that we can to encourage, promote and retain our businesses. The CIP is a legislative planning and economic development tool that allows municipalities to offer incentive programs and policies to encourage community revitalization, beautification and investment.”
In response to the question of how he felt receiving this grant, Mr. Patel noted, “as a business owner, I feel honoured to reside and operate in a community where municipal leadership sees it fit to support local businesses by providing financial and non-financial incentives. Without such assistance, I would not have been in a position to undertake this project and beautify my property.”
Through the Township’s recently adopted CIP, whether you are a business owner looking to make improvements to your property, expand your existing business or interested in investing in a new venture, the Township is now in a position to adequately assist you.
