THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF IGNACE


NOTICE OF PASSING OF THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING BY-LAW FOR THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF IGNACE


TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ignace passed By-law
No. 68/2020 on the 19th day of April, 2021 under Section 34 of The Planning Act R.S.O., 1990.


THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of By-law No. 68/2020 is to enact the Township’s
Comprehensive Zoning By-law, to regulate the use of land, and the character, location and use
of buildings and structures in the Township. By-law No. 68/2020 replaces all previous Zoning
By-laws of the Township.


THE SUBJECT LANDS include all lands located within the Township of Ignace, and as such,
no key map is provided. No lands in the Township of Ignace are subject to any related
applications under the Planning Act.


The process for the passing of the Township of Ignace Zoning By-law No. 68/2020 was done
concurrently with the adoption of the Official Plan, By-law No. 67/2020.


Copies of By-law No. 68/2020 are available for viewing at Ignace Town Hall, 34 Main Street
(Hwy 17), Ignace, ON, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. It may also be viewed at

TAKE NOTICE THAT any person or public body may appeal the decision of the Corporation of
the Township of Ignace to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal by filing with the Clerk of the
Township of Ignace, not later than May 21, 2021, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to
the decision and the reasons in support of the objection accompanied by the Local Planning
Appeal Tribunal forms and fee of $1,100.00 for an appeal to the proposed Zoning By-law
amendment, payable to the Minister of Finance1. If you wish to appeal to the Tribunal, a copy of
an appeal form is available from the following website:
https://olt.gov.on.ca/tribunals/lpat/forms/appellant-applicant-forms/.


TAKE NOTICE THAT only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a by-law to
the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. A notice of the appeal may not be filed by an
unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of
an individual who is a member of the association or group on its behalf.


AND TAKE NOTICE THAT no person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of
the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or public body made oral
submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the
Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
